As the sovereign owner of a system I want to be able to setup messages based on pilot standings that will popup in the new notification system whenever someone comes into a system.
So if you're a neut and you enter system x from any gate you'll see a message saying "Hi there, we shoot neuts" or "feel free to dock and follow this link to see the laws of our system"
That same system will have different messaging if you're a red, "This system is owned by 'X' and you are red to us, beware" etc...
This will help new players and veterans alike communicate and potentially enable the freeport and NRDS methodologies that may allow for trade hubs to spring up in null after the new changes come out.
Obviously players can opt out of these messages in the new system but it would be nice to be able to tell people that when they enter a system they are safe to dock and buy things at the station or warn them that they are now set to red and should GTFO before they get themselves swatted.
Just an idea, I'd love to get feedback. |

I know that the play styles I'm talking about are not common today but open your brain holes a little and consider what eve will be like when you have to be truly self sufficient in deep null. Having an open market in deep null is going to be an imperative for both earning income as well as drawing people into your region for fights. The world is about to change drastically and if you can't see that you're not paying close enough attention. |

Why not just have your people watch local and report intel?
How is that even related to the feature I've suggested here? |

Bronson Hughes wrote:I actually like this idea. In hisec, messages pop up whenever anyone with sufficiently bad standings (either with CONCORD or the local sovereign empire) enters local. It seems that capsuleer holders of sovereign space should be able to set such messages, not just NPC empires.
+1 for the idea on paper, although I do worry about it's impact on system lag, TiDi, etc. Can you imagine a massive gate fight with that a hundred notifications clogging everyone's screen? Urk.
Have you used the new beta notification system yet? Also It would be messaging that would pop up to the person entering the system just like when you jump into low sec today before you jump you get a message. This would be slightly more passive in that it wouldn't stop you from jumping in but it would pop a message to you as soon as you hit jump telling you a little bit about what you just got yourself into by entering another groups sov space.
These are not intended to me messages in local, they are not intended to be notifications related to intel they are notification to the person entering a sov system they dont control, along the lines of a putting up a sign "Beware of Dog" so that the post man knows he might get bit. |

I wonder. I was thinking about the kind of dialog box you get when eg. jumping into a hostile NPC faction's space, when the faction police announces to everyone on grid that enemies of the state will be shot on sight etc., rather than getting an annoying "Ok" -type dialog box. Other than the issue of being potentially annoying, I think this idea would be a nice touch. How about rather than a message when jumping into the system, the system owner would be able to set (a short) MOTD for local chat?
Seriously go use the new beta notifications and get an idea of what I'm talking about then provide feedback. It's in production you just have to enable it in game. There wont be a confirmation button, you'll be able to opt out of all of the messages etc. It will serve the same purpose but the implementation is vastly different so as not to be annoying as hell. |

Yet again, GO USE THE NEW NOTIFICATION SYSTEM. It as the ability to opt out of every message type. |

How is that even related to the feature I've suggested here? Because you could have your pilots send a message to a neut or red if you want. This is you wanting the game to do something automatically that should be effort on the part of the pilot. If I jump into an unknown system and don't look up the sov holder and die, that is my fault. The game shouldn't help me not die.
It's intended to communicate to all pilots that come in so as the owner of a null sec system you could create a freeport ie open trade hub in null sec.
You're only looking at the pvp aspects and not thinking about this as it's intended as a way to communicate with people that enter your system automatically. |

Just an idea, I'd love to get feedback. No. Completely removes human error. Additionally this will allow you to cover systems you are not actually in and get information about hostile fleets. There is already a mechanic for this. It is called intel channels, locator agents and not being **** at the game. This is just allowing SOV owners to have lazy pvp. With that noted -1.
You obviously can't read if you could you would have understood what I was proposing. |

How would it make null safer. How. Seriously how. It's a message. Saying that it'll make it safer would imply that naming your stations make null safer or that like you said anchoring a container would make it safer. you're lost bro.
it's just messaging no different than billboards an yes like anchoring containers. This would be a more formal less ghetto method of communication between system owners and the pilots that fly there. |
